Event Description

In this session, James Finch, MD outlines rational opioid prescribing in the setting of chronic pain to minimize risks of misuse and addiction, provides an overview of current guidelines and regulatory expectations regarding opioid prescribing, and provides guidance for intervening with aberrant medication behaviors related to opioid and other controlled medication use. This is the first of two sessions which fulfill the NC Medical Board requirement for Controlled Substances CME.

This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credit. Approval is valid for one year from 09/20/2018. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
